When a post is made on a website, it becomes copyright of that site (if it wasn't for the site then that post wouldn't exist etc.) So if people are 'stealing' posts they are in fact breaking the law.

Many websites do this to make their site appear busier than it actually is (under non-admin usernames of course!).

Jazzy, and Staffy I know what you're talking about. I didn't mention the name of the dog, that's why they changed it. I had thought when someone told me about the post that it was from one of my aunt's friends (they did too, lol) and I was excited, only to go to the forum and see it was a farce.

I ask permission to crosspost personally. I see no reason to make every story my own...

The only times I have cross-posted, it was something I had written myself, anyway!

I did submit something to one site which was marked clearly as "Copyright Snorri the Priest"; I was just a little miffed to see that the "Copyright" had been removed. Not really angry, just enough to let out a small snort
