I would have prefered to get Takara at 8 weeks but the breeder gave us a choice to get her the weekend after she was 7 weeks (about 7 weeks, 3 days I think).

She was a complete nightmare puppy but to be fair, I think she would've been anyway! And she's a dally!

The bank holiday weekend was a perfect time to get her, so we chose the time we'd be able to spend most time with her rather than worrying about 4 days.

Got both of mine at 7 and a half weeks as they were born mid week so I picked them up at the weekend. If the pups are good size and have no problems then this isn't a problem.
I think it's more important to pick your pup up in the morning then you and the pup have the entire day to get him/her settled rather than picking the pup up one evening and it all being a rush, Good luck with your new pup. How exciting

i got milllie at 6 weeks. shes fine - confident, actually a lot bigger than her litter - she evn got mistaken for a dog

i think we bonded better because i got her that much earlier (only because her mum was snapping at them etc)

7 weeks is fine, I got both mine at 7 no probs, although I would have preffered they stayed 'til 8, it's just how the circumstances worked out, dates worked out easier as I travelled a fair distance for them.

Dusty was 7 weeks 3 days I think and Maddy was 7 weeks and 1 day.

6 weeks in my experience is still a little to early for the vast majority of pups, before 6 weeks is a definate no no, same as 12 weeks plus can sometimes cause bonding/socialisation problems. 8 -10 weeks is usually the perfect time, but 7 weeks is ok....

actually millie was 2 days under 6 weeks - and i know it was too early but tough

she coudlnt stay with her mum much longer - she was getting sick of them - the mum was barely 1 year old whe n she had them

personally id have them from round about 7 weeks onwards in furture.
