My post is relevant because somebody (can't remember who) suggested that everyone else probably had fun. I was simply telling them that it was obvious a few didn't.

They had shown a public display of dissatisfaction throughout the whole day.

I show my dogs at all levels. Apart from using Companion Shows when i have a pup for socialisation, the thing I like about Companion Dog shows is that it is open to all. It's a good chance for all of us to get together on one day, take along a picnic and just have fun. With Champ shows being split into group days, you don't get the opportunity to spend the day with some people, where as a companion, everyone can get together and just enjoy the day. Yes there are those that take it far too seriously. Thankfully these are in the minority and only show themselves up to be bad sports.

I've seen people like this at all levels of show.I Help on the committeee of a couple of shows, open & limited & there are some people who come every time & always moan & complain about things. It used to worry me but now I think, they keep coming back so it can't be all wrong. I sometimes think some of them wouldn't be happy unless they had something to moan about. Know of one lady who went best in show & reserve best puppy in show & she still complained about the judges, ring size & refreshments. Sometimes you can only smile & hope for someone else to say thankyou & remind you that not all people are like that.

I'm going to a Companion show at the weekend with my 'Show Dogs'. I'm told that part of the funds raised will go towards helping a local Mother replace some furniture and things, as her house burnt down last week. In the house were her Husband, her 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter who all perished, who also went to school with my own children.

I hope many people will go with show dogs AND pet dogs, to help this woman hopefully not have to worry about financial things on top of her dreadful grief.

Westie N.......Are you saying that this woman or any other Charity does not deserve the chance to have our money ???

What a dreadful thing this poor woman has gone through. I sincerely hope the bad weather doesn't put people off attending and that they manage to at least help her with furnishings etc, I feel so sorry for her and her family.

I hope you have a good day with your beauties

Good Luck, have you posted the details on the companion thread in case any of us are local and can go.
And I'll say it again Westie thats your interpretation of the days events, and even if they didnt enjoy it why should that preclude people who do enjoy companion show form entering.
By the way a couple of people here who alos went to the show seemed to miss this behaviour you keep quoting

Thanks Scorpio.

I too hope the weather will hold out although I live in quite a tight knit community and everyone is prepared to go the extra yard to help this lady at this devastating time for her.

It's just a shame that sore losers cant appreciate that ALL charitable causes are just that, and to stamp their feet for the sake of a rossette is disgraceful, when someone could be suffering and/or losing out for the loss of entries !
