Way off the mark, Puppy Farmers breed for a living-ie to make as big a profit as possible, on Orkney £50 for a puppy from maybe a litter of 8 is hardly going to fund anyone's life style.

Whilst I would never buy a BC from untested parents, Snorri isn't me & his puppy will be wanted & loved & serve the purpose of being a loving friend & companion. I've got a friend on the Orkneys & she is lucky enough to have been able to go off island to get her dogs, but she isn't disabled & has friends on the mainland who help her with accommodation etc

Do tell!!!! I might know her!

My trouble with Mainland accommodation is finding somewhere wheelchair-accessible. I used to stay with my sister in Edinburgh, but that was pre-wheelchair. Also, her daughter is very allergic to Kali and others. (Every pet they've had has needed to be rehomed, even the budgie.) My best mate was a good provider, too, but he died a year ago

Sorry, she ringeth no bell Nevertheless she might know me by sight, from my pre-wheelchair days: walking through Kirkwall with two almost-identical blue-eyed collies (to some, I was definitely "the guy wi' the twa blue-eyed dugs")

Well, the original purpose of this thread has been fulfilled, the wee boy will be mine if I want him, so I'm going to bow out now. Feel free to keep squabbling on it, though you all seem to be having such fun!
