It's been a whil since I updated...I took Bryan to see the trainer at Dog's Trust and got loads of advice (very similar to what Shona has told me).

Basically I've got a lot tougher and I have let Bryan know that I do NOT want him barking at other dogs when he's on his lead.

We've also stopped him sleeping on our bed.

Yesteday we walked past 4 dogs - 4 WHOLE DOGS -and he didn't bark at them. He had a look, was interested, but didn't bark. He barked at one dog but it was nowhere near as bad as it used to be (more of a grumble really).

Just thought I'd let you all know, we;re getting there

Thanks guys!

He had a bit of a grumble at a little staffy this afternoon, but I stopped him fairly quickly.

Planning a trip to the park on Saturday afternoon

Sounds as if you're well in the process of getting things sorted with Bryan now, that's brilliant!

Good luck with your park outing. Hopefully it'll go well! I look forward to hearing all about it!

Did not read this whole thread, but I hope the OP is still present to take this suggestion, if has not already been suggested...

The book "Click to Calm" by Emma Parsons (I think that the author) is a book I really like.
