No need to apologise, I just think statemets like 'most dogs die of heart failure' need to be clarified as people need to be aware of all the health implications in an old dog.

Don't need to have any, dogs that die of "old age"die because their heart fails-I found my father dead-he died of old age(heart failure)

The vast majority of animals that die from natural causes die because their heart fails to work-even if the heart fails because of other health problems-QED

Some people donate their hearts, remember.
However they are usually kept alive on life support prior to the heart being donated, if they were not on life support the heart would eventually fail.

Most heart donors(unless they are having a heart transplant themselves & are part of a multiple transplant)are brain dead & if brain dead then eventually the heart will fail & the person becomes clinically dead

Jemima is in London as we speak working on last minute bits and pieces for the programme which is due to go out next Monday, timed perfectly for pre Crufts viewing.

She lives very near me, in fact I get my Orijen via her.........

Good points, its on BBC4, so not prime time tv or channel

Bit of a come down for her, from BB1 at prime time.

Then you will know how much she does for dogs quietly and without a fuss.
