CL me and amts had a nitemare trying to get one that fitted the airlines measurements
none of the shop brought ones were ok,either too big or too small
i ended up telephoning loads and loads of people and in the end i called a animal courier company and asked where they brought theirs, cheeky i know but the guy was soooo helpful and gave me a number of a place in gateshead and the lady was very helpful ordered it to the size we needed and it was delivered a week later at a cost of £25 including postage
couldn,t get any better than that eh

microchipping is done in any bird, but we needed it for his pet passport
but should only ever be done by a avian vet
i,m not looking forward to taking him for it but it is needed so has to be done

As Jackie says the carrier was really a night mare to find. The airline isnt excatly helpful or willing to compromise so we had a few days of frustration and a few grey hair might be to spot now

IMO the box is great course it lives up to the airline rules, but theres no way he´ll spend more time in that than nessecary. We´ll take him in a bigger one to the airport and bf will be standing by (also with a bigger cage) when we land. Thank god the flight is only what?? 1 hour? 1 1/2 hour?

Oh Jackie and Amts he is looking so gorgeous, I hope everything goes well on his trip and can't wait to see pics of him in his new home.

Jackie your birds sound great, its right though they pick things up so quickly you have to be soo careful what you say around them. My oldest African Grey Oscar knocks on the window at people outside, and sometimes he shouts Hellloooooo but sometimes he shouts s**thouse. Thats because at our other house a neighbours cat used to come regularly and poop in the flowerbeds and my BF at the time used to knock on the wiindow and shout 'oy s**thouse' at it. Thank god for double glazing
