You did absolutely the right thing for all concerned. Dont feel bad as you have spared him from a life of being constantly stressed and unable to cope, which would have been far worse.

So very sorry for you. Sounds like you tried everything you could but in the end, life for Barney was not a happy one. My friends parents had to put their collie down in a very similar situation. She would attack and bite for no reason, going from a loving dog to a vicious and untrustworthy girl. They tried everything but their vet said some collies are just not wired up properly. Run free Barney. Life will be easier for you at Rainbow Bridge. xx
