Just read this thread, I think you have made the right choice for Barney. As hard as it is to do it will be better for everyone involved including him as his life must not be very good to be stressed to the point of lashing out, which may very well not be him in control.

Will be thinking of you today and sending you good thoughts.

Thinking of you all today. You have made the right decision I think - sometimes there is no other option as hard as that may be. Far better for him to have ended his life with someone like you who cares and who in the end did the right thing by him than to have been passed from pillar to post in the hope that one day he would 'be right'. It was never going to happen was it? sending hugs. xx

Thank you all so much for your support.

Barney had a last nice quiet walk in the woods this morning.
He was then sedated and had a very peaceful passing.

This poor lad could not cope with life. We gave it our best shot and that's all we could do.

RIP Barney x

(((((Maisiesmum)))))

You did a great service to poor troubled Barney. You gave him a chance and a quiet, peaceful out. It is sad, but sadness is just a given in real life. Compassion isn't. You gave him that.

RIP Barney-- not that I need to wish it. He is.
