I was given one and to be honest the only one that used it
was the cat. The puppy had no interest whatsoever. I agree puppy pads much better option. Very easily lifted and replaced.

My thoughts FWIW....
I don't think dogs and apartments are a good marriage. I'm not saying it can't work but some thought needs needs to be given to things like toilet arrangements, exercise facilities, the opportunities to socialise, how the neighbours might - and whether the landlord would even permit them.

Exactly. But it is perfectly feasible if you are motivated enough to be prepared to take the dog out in the middle of the night I guess.

it's perfectly fine to train your dog to use a litter tray or equivalent at night too, better than getting accosted in your jim jams.

Chance would be a fine thing!! Seriously, I am lucky enough to live in a very safe part of the country and think nothing of walking my dog round the front drive, back garden or even down our lane in the night. Dead safe round here - I guess if you were in an apartment block in town it would be very tricky and not very safe, which is why I personally would not have a dog in such circumstances.

Gnasher and Trouble. (lovely combination

If Max want's out in the middle of the night, which isn't very often, he gives the back door a tap so I let him out. It's an enclosed space.
Apartment dwellers don't, as a rule, have that option.

I agree, mine ask to go out if necessary and for us it's an enclosed back garden too but I can see the sense in making other arrangements if an enclosed back garden is not available to you.
