Gosh, UK politics are so complicated to me. We have two main parties, Democrat/Liberal (Obama) and Republican/GOP/Conservative (Bush). Then you have the Libertarian, who you only vote for if you don't wish to vote either main party and he NEVER comes close to winning. There is the Tea Party, but to be frank... OUCH!

In spite of never ending coverage on the TV /radio I haven't received one circular or visit from any party member.

I guess as this is a safe tory seat with a large majority we are not worth the effort.

As long as I can remember (I have lived here 30 years) there's always been posters up in house windows and farmers fields but they are absent this time too..

We were talking about this today Meg.
Can't remember when any candidate actually knocked our door.
We have an independant candidate here who is a dog owner and who always campaigns for dog owners, so she will get my vote for the local council!

I spoke too soon and have just had a visit from a Tory lady who is standing for the local council on the same day as the election. She also bought the literature for Harriet Baldwin our current MP.

Well that says it all better not say any more in the interests of grammatical accuracy I've added something to your description of the woman, I think that's the way you meant to use the word, see if you can spot it

Harvey - of course that is how it was meant but I left the quotation marks off the word delightful so as to show no fear or favour in my descriptive prose! There are many ways I could think of to describe that woman, the majority far too colourful for this refined and delicate site!

Yes, just checking as I thought I read your meaning correctly.

As I said on one of Azz's other sites, it's a case of 'give us more, don't care if the English get less'

I don't have much in savings but what I had was in Scottish companies, not any more
