Google chrome

Please could anyone who uses it give me the pros and cons.

I have Firefox at the moment, but people keep telling me that there are lots of lovely features on Chrome. I am not convinced, but there is one thing that I would like, and that is the facility it has to automatically save all your bookmarks and passwords so that if you have to buy a new computer it is all there.

I don't like it, never have done. Like Firefox, easy to use and understand. Having said that got a new tablet last week and google is on it and its ok. Think its a shortened version of it tho ..

I didn't like it, but I only used it for e-mail as it was in gmail that I installed it, so I never really used the search part of it. Dave uses it regularly, he likes it cos it's fast. I will ask him tonight about it. We don't like change do we old bean

I get all emails to my Gmail addresses [as well as my Hotmail and Yahoo ones] on Firefox via the Firefox Add-on X-Notifier [it used to be called WebmailNotifier]. I only use Chrome in a dire emergency [ie if FF is down].

I've recently switched to it (mainly because my very computer savvy son uses it!) All my FF bookmarks etc. were automatically carried over.

I do take issue with those who say it is FASTER. We will see. However as it is Chrome on my Android phone and also Chrome on my new Tablet - I wanted to have them all the same.

However, as in the past, I will use a variety of browsers depending on what I am doing.

I really don't like IE and hasn't been my home browser for many years but still have to use it for some stuff connected with my work. And Google search page is always my home page anyway - whatever browser I use.

Lol I think all this is down to personal taste. If Azz comes on he will sing the praises of Chrome (I think)
I always use Chrome, I do think it is faster.
My computer savvy son says it's pants and he only uses IE.
So I believe you pays your money and takes your choice

Thing is you don't have to GET RID OF your present one or any other ones. You can keep them all and pick and choose.

I used Chrome on my old laptop and thought it OK

This machine still only has Internet Explorer and I find it does 'stutter' from time to time - which was why I switched to Chrome on the other laptop.

Chris, you can download and install Firefox, Chrome [and Safari, I think] from IE.

[Edited to add it might be Opera and not Safari]
