Is this a lot of shedding?

Having never had a dog before, but we have got one which is supposedly non shedding (or at worst low shedding). It might just be that it's more noticeable because of the contrast. Is this a lot for 24 hours? Everyday is similar.

Thanks,
David

That's nothing

You should see the regular contents of my Dyson.

Of course you could change to a dark carpet and pretend it's not happening....

I wish my dog shed that much! We used to have a carpet the same colour and within an hour of me hoovering it would look black again. I have tumbleweeds in my bathroom and kitchen and I only hoovered them yesterday.

How long have you had him now? Stress can cause a dog to shed more than it normally would.

You want to see what my little 13kg monster produces daily
I hoover every day, and there is ALOT more than that!

I can see your point about it being a low shedding breed though, but seems comparativley small.

Ok, I'm starting to feel not so bad about the amount we get now.
Thanks for clearing it up,he probably is a comparatively 'low-shedder'!

You could always send the dog to a shelter cuz he doesn't match the carpets!

You may laugh at that, but it happens!

I noticed with the St. Poodles I trained, and groomed that when their hair was really long, they started dropping clumps, a good bath and blow dry (brushing while blow drying) would stop that, but it would take me 2 hours or more to blow-dry the dogs.

Keeping them trimmed worked best.

Wow - you have it lightly - blonde hairs everywhere! Grooming Benjie is like sheering a sheep every single day - it's that bad!

Your dog definitely isn't a non shedder... but frequent hair brushing and trimming will keep up on a lot of that before it hits the carpets. Seasonal shedding peaks can also be a pain.... but you just vacuum more - your dog can't help it. :0) If you notice an abnormal amount... hair loss, itching... you might want to address allergies, change of diet, dry skin...etc.
