Denby, Staffie, DOB 06?07
Denby, Staffie, DOB 06?07
His Story Denby was rescued from a family where he was known to be hit a lot. He was taken in by a lady and her dog. After 5 weeks the dogs had a set too. The owner's nerves, having been caught up between them, kicked in, but no injury to either dog or person. She no longer had the confidence to manage a 2 dog situation, attempted to find him a rescue place, but then took him to her vets who signed him over and approached us knowing our rescue well. The vet then proceeded to keep Denby in the surgery over the weekend; neuter, 1st vax, flea & kennel cough treat him. Voilą! Denby was handed to us with worming tablets and a sizeable contribution towards his kennelling costs. What a story ... Lucky boy and sooo worth saving.
Homing Requirements Denby is a medium sized slightly leggy Staffie. A slightly timid nature and his instincts are to stop then retreat. He walks well on an extender and once he has restored his confidence with dogs he may well be an off lead dog. Only pet, companion home within a harmonious family adult or with older mature children. Denby needs a non-confrontational approach due to his possible abusive past - a family with a nurturing vibe.
Advert Denby is debonair, truly gentle, sensitive and looks to his owner for guidance and reassurance. He will need a settling period to assess his ability to be left, but he has a sense of assuredness about him - he may well cope well. Denby has been through a lot of changes recently and placing him in kennels he proceeded to stand and watch my comings and going quietly in silence which revealed his sense of acceptance and maturity.
Denby is a handsome lad who responds well to; builds trust and forms good relationships with a variety of strangers. He lived 5 weeks successfully in with another dog, coming in their territory as an entire male which is truly astounding in our book. Denby is a really nice dog who in the right hands will gain the self assurance that he needs ... he has a submissive stance which opens the heart. His new owners will have to ensure to build on his innately trusting nature and enable him to walk away from his past. Conscious, positive affirmation will shape his sense of self. A really good dog.
"Please note Denby is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found"
***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***.
