I can't remember how long I kept Kali at home (it was 11 years ago!), but Snorri was in town before he'd had any (carried, not walking) because for about 10 days, I had no choice (too long a story for late-night typing!) - but after he'd had them, I was told 1 week, but I kept him in the garden for two.
These islands are (comparatively) safe, the most risk is from rats carrying lepto - being farmland, the countryside is alive with rats

, which is why (unlike some) I keep the innoculations current.
P.S. - Novibac here, too - but a different Nobivac combo each year ("programmed" to avoid over-innoculation against certain diseases).
