Dog leads

Okay looking for a good quality leather lead about 5ft (60") where did you get yours and do you treat it to remain soft supple?

I have a leather police training lead my friend got me from his local pet shop. If he hadn't got it, I'd have ordered one from 'For Dog Trainers'. Their stuff is very good. I haven't treated it yet, but I'm going to get some wax for leather to maintain it.

Hunter (the german company not the welly people) I really love their stuff, haven't had to treat but would just use saddle soap.

I'll have a look at 'For Dog Trainers' as I want a nice double ended and Hunter are a pain for me order locally. Scratch that I'm not supporting a site that sells that stuff.

I use these Kazz, they are great, always soft, never need oiling.

The 3/4" would be ideal I think, I want something soft for my hands and want leather. These look ideal.

Is there some official police dog lead? Only I've seen so many different style leads which are alleged ones the police use. Sorry to hi-jack the thread a little x

Not much help here. I have gotten many leads from custom leather workers, 6' ones with a snap on either end. They seem to stay nice and soft just from use. I know you can buy ready made ones, but not where.

I love leather collars and leads. I order mine from a seller on ebay, but she hasn't been selling stuff on there for awhile.

I just clean mine with glycerine saddle soap now and again and they are grand.
