List your top 5 breeds

Further to the "which Dogsey dog do you want" thread, list your top five breeds and what attracts you to them. So essentially, your dream top 5, in order.

N.B. you don't have to pick the breed you already own, I wont tell ;o)

I'll go first (although it's hard to pick just five!!):

1. Bassett Hound - wanted one all my life but not energetic enough for me and riddled with ailments I believe.
2. Beagle - Adorable looking dogs and am a huge lover of the hound family, but my parent's two have put me off owning one.
3. German Short Haired Pointer - beautiful looking animals. Sweet natured and playful. Too big for us for now though.
4. English Springer Spaniel - Got one! Playful, energtic, willing, fun, adoring. An all rounder for us!
5. Hungarian Viszla - As with the GSP. Beautiful looking animals. Sweet natured and playful. Too big for us for now though.

(I really want to put a Rotty and English Setter in there too. Maybe I should have made it top ten ;o)

1. Siberian Husky - Dog of Dogs and Lord of All
2. Akita Inu - simply beautiful
3. Alaskan Malamute - majestic
4. Japanese Shiba Inu - beauty with attitude
5. Hungarian Kuvasz - protector par-excellence!

I adore my lurchers, but I would love a greyhound
My other top breeds are:
Alaskan Malamute - We were planning to get one and did loads of research, but after meeting with a few Mal owners, we realised simply don't have room in the house for such a big dog right now. Maybe in a few years we could look at it again.
Great Dane - gorgeous dogs I would love to have one, but again it's a question of space.
Irish Setter - My ex boyfriend had one and I adored that dog
Border Collie - as a child I always wanted one, and when I left home I rehomed the lovely Pip, a 13 month old BC bitch. Unfortunately, my ex husband moved in soon after, and waited until after we were married to tell me that he hated her, and actually hated all dogs, so when we put down a deposit on a pet-friendly house, and the landlord decided just before we moved in that she actually didn't want any pets, he insisted I had to rehome her as he wasn't prepared to loose the deposit. My vet's receptionist took her in, and gave her a lovely home, but I still feel so guilty about it

Border Collies.....as yet never been without one, fantastic characters, fanstastic training ability and fantastic campions.

Rotti........Always wanted one since I was in my 20's ....one day (watch this space)

JRT......owned one for 18 years, love thier guttsie ways, fabulous ''Im busy'' nature, and thier quickness.

GSD..... Love thier sensiveness, thier great ability to learn and thier knowledgeablity.

NI......Only really recently (over the last 2 years) fell for this breed, love thier stunningness, but would have to get to know alot more about them before having one.

Labrador Cant imporve on perfection.

Golden Retriever Did look at them before we got Storm. My brother in law had one aswell

Springer Spaniel Another breed we looked at, family members have them and a few in the local area and are quite fun dogs and the ones on here have done nothing to change my view.

Cocker Spaniel Again another breed we looked at as one of my sisters have had them for year

Clumber Spaniel It would have been a GSD but after seeing Clumbers at crufts I have really fell for them.
