For breeders, what do you put in your 'puppy packs' for new owners to take home?

just wondering what type of things people do as you always see breeders saying 'comess with puppy pack'

do you buy them already made up? or make your own? with little added touches?

I make my own up but it includes

All paper work, registration, peddigree, bill of sale, contract, menu, contact details, vacination book, blood test certificate and passport where applicable, and an information pack on the breed, all placed in a plastic envelope so the new owners can keep everything in one place.

Bag of food usually a 3 kilo bag, there next worming pill with date worming is due writen on it, SS feeding bowl, suitable chewy toy, collar and lead, and finally a small piece of vet bed that has been dragged around the house and played with by all dog's for a few days so that the puppy can have a little piece of home and it hopefully helps it settle quicker as it's covered in all the smells it's use to.

Having recently bought a pup, with him we received his pedigree certificate. Some basic info and advice on feeding, worming, jabs etc. Worming had been up to date. We also got 1 months free pet insurance, a bag of food, a clicker and a puppy guide

I do my own puppy packs - but as an AB have to buy the wallets from the KC.

Mine include
  • KC registration papers
  • Insurance vouchers (not had a litter since the changeover - but believe this is now activated by the breeder)
  • Copies of all health certificates
  • 5 generation pedigree and 10 generation ancestry
  • Microchip details (they are chipped and put in to the new owners names before they leave here)
  • Sale Contract
  • Receipt
  • Signed Breeding Endorsement agreement (I also retain a copy signed by the puppy buyers)
  • Puppy advice book & training guide
  • Photos of mum and dad
  • 3kg bag of puppy food
  • A typed document containing advice on:
  • Diet
  • Exercise
  • Crate and house training
  • Worming history and the future
  • Managing the first / early nights
  • Bite inhibition
  • Links to mine and other useful websites
  • My contact details

i think what you all do is amazing, but as a buyer i wouldn't want or expect a collar, lead or bed as i bought my own style/colours, while waiting between first visiting my pup and collecting her. shopping for the pups is the fun part xx

I think one of the most important things is missing

a large container of water to minimise tummy upsets in new house.
