and is smacking your dog as bad as an e collar ?

Just had this thought as I read through the e collar thread, I have never lifted my hand in anger to any of my dogs not even as some do a wee smack to the nose, what do you all think ?

I've never raised a hand to my dogs either. It's something I feel very strongly against. However, I do sometimes raise my voice, but that's as far as it goes.....

I reckon it would hurt you more than the dog but don't advise you try.

I would rather my dogs respect me through good leadership than fear me

when I had my children someone gave me some very sound advice........ when you are mad with them - sit on your hands!

Its the best advice i was ever given

i just wish more dog owners were given the same advice - smacking is just as threatening to a dog as a child.

I only have to roar and mine know they done very wrong, but it ain't that often just when they squabbling.
Dog's are sensitive to noise.
