new member with beagles

Hi, I've just become a member of Dogsey. I have two dogs. The first was described by the Dogs' Trust as a beagle but is certainly crossed with something else (terrier-like) as well. She is about 4 years old now. She came to us as a very anxious dog and is still very nervous of urban life - in fact, she won't walk along the road outside the house and has to be taken to parks by car! The second dog is a rescued beagle (with long legs) and is the opposite - very friendly and loves going out. Her recall is poor though and she is not completely housetrained yet. These two are the reason I found this site as I am always searching for information which might help me with them. We live in London and our favourite walking area is Hampstead Heath.
