Wasp Sting in Mouth

Ben has just been stung in the mouth by a wasp, he was frantically shaking his head and pawing, the wasp is now well and truly squashed on the floor, my vets don't open again until 3.30. What should I do. He is now lying back down but is hiding under the desk, he is no longer shaking his head and I keep checking and his lips tongue etc all seem normal.

I have human antihistamine - cetrizine, not piriton. Should I give him 1 they are 10mg or should I do nothing and phone vet again in half hour.

Sorry to be so stupid, just worried.

You would soon know if there was a problem . If the sting is not near his airway then he will be ok . Just keep doing what you are doing ie keeping an eye on him

Poor Ben. It sounds like he is fine now. I would just keep an eye on him but it doesn't sound like he has had a reaction to the sting at all. Bloomin' wasps are everywhere at the moment and so sluggish, they are just an open invitation for an inquisitive dog.x

If you are worried give your vets a call in a couple of minutes. As long as it is just his lip he should be fine. It's been a long time since I've been stung but my hand did swell a bit but not like a dangerous reaction.
