season

god havent been able to get on here since thursday as dw just wouldnt load!!!

anyway indie came into her first season yesterday, complete nightmare, theres blood everywhere. Went to pet shop today and bought some dog pants, but they are too small! typical! i measure her wrong didnt i

still not sure wether to walk her or not due to risk of infection. what do u all think? problem is, she needs exercise, so do i just reduce the amount of food i give her as she wont be burning it off?

Yeah, I`d keep her in if I were you. My Lily is haveing her first one and she is in a kennel and run and we let her out in the garden but only when she is with us and we make sure we keep a eye out for the dogs next door and across the road.

i would keep her in even if you dont see any dogs out on your walks they will all know where you live and will live out side your house for the next 3 weeks

ok thanks for the advice. will be buying a football to play with her in the garden.
Altho, usually if i dont take her out shes bouncing across the walls with energy, but shes barely asked to go out since shes come on heat. Do u think shes feelin a bit run down?

Okay Jenny, this is a bit different....

I walk Luna the same places I always walk her. havent had any probs with male dogs.... Luna's been in season twice.

I dont understand wot u mean with risk of infection....

I would take her out on walks.... Do u have a lot of stray dogs in your area? We dont here.... You could just have her on the flexi line....

I dont treat Luna any different during her season, I'm just a bit more aware of dogs in our surroundings.

I kept Storm in right throughout her season, but I have lots of dogs near to me, some of them are latchkey dogs that are entire too.

I personally wouldn't take the risk, it's amazing what lengths a male will go to to get to a bitch in season.
