Yes, she was mated 30 days ago, had bit of a strange start really, took her to stud on day 11....mated no problems, 30 minute tie, took her back on day 13, stud dog sniffed, got on the arm chair and went to sleep we thought ok, nothing lost we've had a good first mating. Took another test on Sunday, showed she was ovulating??? Took her back to stud day 15 another good mating.

Everything was going great until about 10 days ago when she started with a brown discharge, thought maybe it was just a little infection due to mating, took her to the vet, scanned yes she was pregnant but there was also a lot of debris floating around (not good) 10 days worth of AB's and told to watch her carefully, her womb was small so no infection (had nightmares about a pyo)......this week she started passing dark clots, which I know is definitely not a good sign, took her back to the vet, gave her a quick scan and said 'empty' although poor Poppy thinks otherwise, she's still not eating ...... I guess it will take a while to get back to normal, but she's now back in the kitchen at night with Lily and Petal, just to get her back into her routine, don't want to pamper her too much!

I just sometimes wonder if puppy buyers realise the stress and heartache we go through having litters........typically this morning I've had non stop deliveries of vet bedding, dopram V, puppy milk, towels etc. I would like to try her again, but her next season is around Christmas time and the one after she will be 5, which I feel is pushing it a bit......she's only had one litter previously just over 2 years ago!
