Following On From The Drug Addicts Thread

I've heard today that someone left their little boy in the care of her mother and sister (who is a drug addict) and when she came back she found the little boy asleep with his Aunty next to a table with 3 or 4 methadone bottles. She says she asked them to ensure this didn't happen again and they were off with her, saying she's always complaining and that the bottles were empty.

But the little lad could have licked them couldn't he? And I don't think it's appropriate to have a child around methadone bottles.

I would never have left my child in that position to be honest.

What kind of mum is she leaving her child with a drug addict. Could be there is more than methadone in the house. She needs a kick up the backside to put her child in that environment.

social services springs to mind!

it seems as though she would be willing to leave the child there again so long as bottles arent left lying around!

Well ... I think it's because it's her family and her mum is there. She was just shocked to see the bottles and upset that they defended it.

I know, it would be a horrid position to be in, when it's your family. I feel really sorry for her. I prefer my family to have my little one for a couple of hours than a childminder etc. and I suppose she assumed the same.
