Changing to complete dry food

Hi guys,

I hope to do this changeover over the next 2-3 weeks.

What I would like to know is how much dry food per kilo of bodyweight should I be feeding?

I actually don't trust the instructions on the bag, as I always feel there's a bit of a hidden agenda.

Any advice appreciated, especially as I'm trying to get a bit of weight off Roxy (4lbs lost, 11 more to go!)

It would depend on which food it was as to how much per kilo of bodyweight. Food with a lot of fillers you would need to feed more than a food with less fillers.

I usually start at the lower end of the guide on the bag and adjust depending on weight gain or loss.

Lol like caz said it depends on the type of food.
I asked the vets this question with toby, trying to get his mass down.
They told me look at the qty on the bag ( depending on the food) for weight of dog.
Then take off 10% to allow the dog to lose but not drastically, without them going hungry.
It has worked for toby i measure out their food now to body mass, and theres less waste cause i was over feeding them.
He is on hills natures best and has 1lb 5 oz for 80 kg of weight.
He eats it and not hungry, so we have managed to lose at least 8 kg doing this over the last 6/8 weeks.
Welcome to my world only another 10 kg for him! Maybe at xmas.

Thanks folks. The food is Fold Hill Complete, and my dogs are in the medium range. The amount stated is 260-400g, so I'll have a measure and see what it looks like.

Or 220-360 oz with the 10% off
220 is 8oz 350 is 12 oz. but thats 1 meal so 6 oz per meal to give 12 over 24 hrs.
I think i deserve a brownie point.....
Only cause i am looking at the chart i printed off for tobs.

Porky...er I mean Roxy - 17.3 KG

How much each per meal? The only one I want to reduce is Roxy.
