Sound Card

Fingers crossed someone can help me

It appears I have deleted the sound card/driver from my computer, any ideas how or where I get a new one? someones told me to search for 'C media audio drivers win XP' ...................

I've done that and downloaded what I thought was the right 'driver' for my pc only not all the audio is working ........ Help! (please) I'm a proper bimbo when it comes to PC's so all advice gratefully recieved - in laymans terms of course!

Many Thanks - Dippy

Me thinks I am proper dippy!

My PC is a mixed bag of mashings - monitor PB and Tower is god knows what make! I had an 'expert' upgrade my pc a couple of years ago and it seems he's done me over as it were!

I was upgraded - ahem - to Windows XP so where do I go from there Leo?

do you know how to do a systems restore?
if you do then change it back to a point where you had sound, if you have installed anything since that point you'll lose it.
other than that we need your make and model of motorboard if it hasn't be changed and search on the net for that 1.

you sure you speakers aren't muted? or your speakers haven't broke down and your not getting sound?

Speakers checked and not muted or broken, I can still get some audio but I was reliably informed that when I cleared some unused programs etc off my PC to free up some space I deleted the audio driver too!
