Deaf and Destructive!!

Im hoping someone out there might be able to assist with a difficult situation. I have currently put a deaf 11 month old Staffie X EBT on trial with potential new owner due to her previous owner having no time for her due to work commitments. They did tell me that she was destructive (slightly!) due to being shut in the kitchen with another femal Staffie for up to 6 hours a day. It now transpires that she cannot even be left for 5 minutes without wrecking stuff. She has ripped the leather sofa big time, emptied the bookcase of its contents (it is located in the bathroom!) and generally causes chaos when left. She has also been messing in the new owners home up to 3 or 4 times a day, and they were in the house with her at the time. She has gone from 1 5 minute walk a day to 2 good 40 minutes a day. How do they deal with this in a positive way with a deaf dog? Previous owner tried caging but she screamed and barked until they let her out. neighbours have to be considered of course. Any ideas folks? She is in the house now with a lovely, well behaved Weimeraner hos is a bit freaked out by all the chaos! Thanks

Another suggestion is to speak to Patch on here - she has deaf dogs and is used to helping them in extreme circumstances

I can also recommend that they speak to Sheila Dawson of the White Boxer Rescue as she has a great deal of experience of dealing with deaf dogs. Her number is 01772 690458 - good luck.
