bleeding gums/teeth

hmm, jsut being playign with oscar and he was doing the not letting go of a toy thing, dont normally do it but did today and now i can see blood round one of his teeth.

any ideas?

Hi Ceiron Do you think you might have loosened a tooth during play? If so there isn't much you can do.

Oscar isn't young is he, as dogs get older they can get gum disease which can cause the teeth to bleed easily. Regular brushing the teeth with a soft brush and feeding raw carrots to clean the teeth can help with this.

I had a similar thing when I had Brandie. If she played to rough with her toy, or even sometimes just chewing, her I would find blood on her toys
it was only a little bit so i don't know if it the same as oscar.

Her teeth were checked at the vets and there were no problems. He just reccomended some things to chew like pigs ears and carrots to keep them healthier.
So maybe ask your vet to have a little look next time you are there
