Poo Bags - good or bad?

Well. I was laying in bed this morning thinking about poo. As you do.

And I was thinking about how 'responsible' dog owners pick up their poo.

BUT. Then I was thinking, 99% of people will use a plastic bag to pick up their dogs poo. Then pop it in the bin.

This means there must be MILLIONS of little non-biodegradable little poo parcels in our rubbish tips, and scattered about out countryside (I have seen them hooked to trees and all sorts).

Which got me thinking again.

While we risked stepping in poo a few years ago, now we are, perhaps saving out trainers, and stopping kids playing in it, but are also immortalising our dogs poo packages for future generations!!

Poo used to disappear into the earth on it's own. I mean - where I walk, there are COWS running all over it. Noone goes after them and picks their pats up. Yes, dog poo and cow poo is different, but it all goes down the same way eventually (for the record, I am one of the few people who picks up my dogs poo off the common land). But now, it is shrinked wrapped in baggies to last an eternity!!

What about our earth - we have to be responsible for that too??!!

(this is were my arguement falls apart as I have ALL the morals and very little will power!!)

how about biodegradable poo bags

I use bags to pick up the poo, and had never thought about it
Now I feel guilty about the bags hanging around for ever
I think I would rather that option than seeing the mess that we have in our local [park from dog walkers just leaving it.
We have 2 JRT and a neww Puppy I swear they could Poo for England !!!!

i use biodegradeable nappie sacks......so no immortalised poo for us

Hmmmm very thought provoking. Perhaps you could invent some bio degradable poo bags?! I use my fruit and veggie plastic bags from tescos as my poop bags. Firstly they are free and secondly i feel like i am recycling a bit too. lol doesnt help them degrade though!

I've got some bio-degradeable poo bags But it says on the info they start degraded when exposed to light. But after use they get put in a dark poo bin! And don't they then get buried by mountains of other rubbish?
So my dog poos are probably still going to be around for ages.


The fields here are covered in cow poo too. I think it's worse than dog's, they're massive

and green!
