I hope this is new to most of you

I could not open it without using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer program but hoped that it would work for all of you too.

I cannot take credit for it as it was e-mailed to me by my very good friend in the States, Dee(who has joined Dogweb but I believe has yet to post)
It was quite unusual showing some Porcupine Babies

Unfortunately, it refused to upload and I tried to delete the whole of this message but could not manage to do that either.

The file type is known as

!cid_X.MA1

Any idea what kind of program would open it or what it is or how I can convert it so it will work on here in a more acceptable way?

Sorry

Gildy

Hi Gildy I am not up on these things but one of the photographer/PC people like eRaze, StewartB, Leo or Fred may see this here and be able to help you ..then we can all share it with you
Once someone 'in the know' has advised on the file we can post the picture in other pets

I believe it is some naming system of AOL's.

If you rename it with a jpg extension eg porcupine.jpg does it show ?

link click here here the original formate

if you look at that as roy said it is a formate proberly from aol i am still lokking for you it will take me a couple of miniutes though i have the programe which opens it hope it works for you

If you try to save the file, what is the file name offered? What are the file extension letters after the period? Such as .jpg, or .rsc, or .xyz, .etc ?

That might work for you try that just mark the picture / save as /rename/

just done it with this picture

renamed it test.jpg works fine

Can't say I've ever seen that format in four years of A O Hell, but I have seen some e-mail headers which contain references to something called "X-mailer", which seems to crop up when an e-mail is returned as undeliverable. Still no farther forward, though, as I don't know what "X-mailer" is, either!

Ta, Fred! I see it has something to do with e-marketing, so I've probably seen it in my early on-line days, uselessly trying to tell spammers to "micturate elsewhere". Nowadays, I know there's no point in replying to spam (it rarely gets delivered, anyway), but I was callow in those days!
