Bringing a rescue dachshund from USA to UK

Hi,

Been a long time since I posted on this site!

I want to bring a disabled dachshund from Kentucky USA to Aberdeenshire.
He is a rescue dog who is paralysed and travels around in a cart.
His name is Hunter and is 10 yrs old, he has suffered abuse and the previous owners wanted him PTS because of his inability to control his toileting.
Now, due to his disability, he cannot travel in the hold of an aircraft as he will require care en route.
I am looking for constructive advice if anyone knows of anyway we can get this dog across or has done something similar.
I would also like to get someone to take his plight on board and use some clout to get something done.
He has a [a social network] page " Hunter - Paralyzed dachshund in wheels"

Thanks!
