First puppy training class tonight...

Marco is booked in for his first puppy training class tonight and I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does and how he interacts with the other dogs.

At the end of each class the trainer hides treats under objects for each dog to sniff out and have, I just know he's going to do very well at that part of class, his nose is amazing!

I've also found an agility set on Amazon that I'm going to order for him today, I've no plans to show or enter any competitions but thought that he'd enjoy it, it will stop him getting bored and its something we can all do with him.

Pinch punch first day of the month

Glad you're so excited about it, as it should be great fun, so enjoy it. Don't get disheartened when he just wants to play with the puppy next to him, he'll still learn lots and you've done so well with him so far. Have fun then

Good luck with the training

Just a word of caution re agility-no jumping/tight weaving until he has stopped growing-you probably know that already though

Oh you'll have a great time, in puppy class they all distract each other anyway.
Was going to say about agility and not overdoing it but Joedee already said it. You can walk him over the jumps if the bar is on the floor so he gets the hang of doing it, also he can go through the tunnel and walk along a board on the floor so he will be mentally prepared when things change.

Thanks for the advice re the jumping/weaving, I do know he shouldn't be jumping for a long while, this is just something to have on very low to entertain him in the garden, I'm not wanting to train him for agility. They have them at the puppy class and they are set very low so that dogs of all sizes can use them.
