Kismet goes mole hunting:)

Kismet pounced into the grass on our walk today as she often does, but this time she started digging and tearing and just wanted to get that mole.. so like any good mummy I broke out the phone and filmed her

Lovely.
Laddie my last Shorthaired Pointer would take himself off to the field next door for hours to go `moling`when we lived in France. The field was also occupied by a semi-wild flock of hens but he wasn`t bothered at all by them. .

My Weim is an ace mole detector, she kills them but does not eat them.

Oh Taz that really had me laughing, she is so like our Rianna who also starts digging when she thinks she's found a mole

Great chunks of grass come flying out, some quit big, and like Kismet she moves along trying to follow the tunnel the mole has made.

Most recently I saw the mole (or may have been a mouse) running through the grass but Rianna missed it and carried on 'digging' where she thought it was

The strange thing is that if they do 'get it' quite often they don't eat it, they just carry it around like some trophy and then drop it, all that work just to 'show off' their hunting skills

And I still haven't forgotten that video you posted about three years ago of Kismet diving into the undergrowth, she must keep you laughing on her walks sometimes.

She still pounces into the undergrowth if she thinks she hears something... But she's got better at actually catching what she heard which leads to awkward walks with my onlead dog proudly carrying a pigeon or bunny... She has only ever caught one mole and that she just spat out, nudged a couple of times with her nose then proudly flounced off

Great video. It made me laugh when Kismet bounced with her front legs before frantically digging again. She is certainly persistant.
