GSD Rescue Scotland

We have some cracking dogs in rescue just now - even a boy who looks just like my Yogi and who is good with children, cats and other dogs He is the first "Zak" on the Dogs In Need page.

Does anyone have a GSD shaped hole in their lives? Oh and there is even a lovely yellow Lab on our site looking for a home!

Take a look.

And even if you don't have the room for an actual GSD - how about helping us by buying one of our lovely calendars, a pack of Christmas cards, an item of clothing (the ladies fleeces are brilliant!), or we are even selling Dogmatic headcollars, normal collars and leads too.

Oh my god Zak his beautiful and sounds amazing.

Oh I wish I was in a position to have him.

Seoras is also a stunning looking boy. I hope he finds the perfect owner and doesn't end up in kennels for too long because of his wariness of strangers

I am in no position currently to have a second dog but when the time comes I would like to rescue..

Just wondering within your rescue do you ever do things case by case or would ALL the requirements have to be met?

I worry about the out for more than 3-4 hrs requirement as I don't think I can work from home forever - or would it depend on the dog and whether you were willing to get people in during the day etc?

We assess on an individual basis. Certain criteria has to be listed on the website to put off the less genuine homes. We try to match the right home with the right dog and, say, if someone works full time, but is prepared to come home during the day, or can employ a dog walker etc then we will look into that, and if we get a dog in that is used to being left for a few hours would suggest that dog (dependent on the potential home passing the homecheck).
