Do you mean 16weeks old? Still very much a pup!
When is she barking and crying? what do you do when she does it - ect...Think you need to give a little more information before members can advise

welcome to the forum!

Hi, welcome

Do you go to puppy socialisation classes? If not, sort them out asap! as this will help a lot in ensuring the pup sees a wider world than just his family and friends - this is very important so that the pup can learn to be confident, and confidence leads to a calmer dog altogether

Only go to a good one, there are some very bad ones out there. Try www.puppyschool.co.uk or www.apdt.co.uk. Be extremely careful and avoid any who let pups all off lead together to run riot - that often harms puppies in the long run.

Also I'd advise getting a good book if you dont already hvae one - Gwen Bailey's Puppy School is good and comes with a dvd if I recall correctly. Or you can download Dr Ian Dunbar's information now.

Do you work, and if so, how is the puppy left? we need more info really

Wys

Wys has given some good advice.

I agree though can you give more info, ie, how often is he/she left, where he/she sleeps, what is your usual routine, etc etc.,
Have you tried putting pup in time out(popping into another room and shuting the door) so the pup gets used to you leaving a room and coming back into the room (only do this for a few seconds or so at the start though) praising when quiet ie rewarding with high tasty treats

Where did he/she come from, is yours the first home pup has had,

Sorry not being nosey just trying to get a bigger picture, as pups leaving siblings etc can be unsettleing, or maybe pup needs a 'safe place' what I mean is some people use a crate covered and the pup goes in there with toys/kongs and feels that place is 'safe'

I have several dogs and our latest pup has plenty of doggy company, single pups don't have that so sometimes you need to create a place where pup feels safe
