Benjie's new fashion accessory..

Due to his progress in behaviour towards other dogs, I decided I would take him on a Dogsey walk. But to ensure the safety of him and me - as I don't know if he would ever redirect, he has done, but just the once.

So I went out and bought him this:

I don't like it, he doesn't like it - yet! But I'm working on it, I got him to like his halti so it's possible.

But he needs it if he's ever going to socialise. So hopefully it will come in useful. And he's all noise, we've never chanced on whether he would bite or not - and I ain't going to start on his first Dogsey walk either.

Aww bless him. Simba had one of these when we had Flossie [so did she] because they could of pottentially really hurt each other so it was for the best.
Im sure he'll get used to it, as you say better safe than sorry. at least you know he is safe, as are the other dogs, while hes wearing it
Much kinder than a nylon muzzle IMO..just dont look very nice do they.

x

Oh dear-Cherry had one of those when she did agility off-lead-just in case! She has never tried to bite another dog, only head-butt but I wasn't prepared to risk someone's dog being bitten.

What we did with hers was cut a piece out of the side so you could push treats in and make it a good experience for her. The thing I used to find amusing was the different reaction I got from people when she was muzzled-they were all scared of her yet she was theoretically the safest dog there as she was the only one incapable of biting!

Bless.

I know you have brought it now...but if you look again - rather than the baskerville....look at the greyhound walking out Muzzles. I always find they are a slightly better fit and design.

Gabe and Trip have both learnt to wear them.

and here is a visitor who wears one when running with mine sometimes....

They seem more flexible around the cheek pieces....seems to cause less irritation to the dog. I have known a few who have not liked the baskerville, but been fine with the greyhound ones.
