Nice Photo of Maya (Basenji)

Maya is on her annual break from the show ring, her last show was LKA and she wont be showing now until Crufts. But, so she remembers what its all about I stacked her t'other day. TBH, it was mostly cos im rubbish at stacking her and need some practice I have no mirrors big enough to see her in so took pictures, and was really pleased with how this one came out Still not got her feet right, but much improved

Great pic, I dont know much about showing and people always mentioning dogs being stacked , what does that mean ? is it the pose ?

Stacking is basically where you place the dogs feet in the correct position as opposed to free standing where you just stand infront of the dog and it has to sort its feet out itself. Im used to free standing dogs (pugs and labradors) so i've really struggled with stacking, although you'd think it would be easier. I find that what looks nice to the handler up closer looks too overstretched/hunched up/unbalanced from the distance the judge is looking from.

me to I have stood the CCs on the table before, had pictures taken and thought by good its a sausage dog..
