We have family in Glen Lyon. When I say 'in' Glen Lyon - I mean Fortingall which is at one end of it.

There's not a great deal there and it's very long.

Be sure to drop in at Iron Fairy (Karen's cousin)

It's mainly mountain walks but if you drive from Bridge of Balgie (heading South) you can park at the Lawers visitor centre near the Dam. Lawers is a smidge under 4000 feet but you get a good headstart altitude wise.

Phil - does your SIL know Loch Lyon at all? I think that is at the other end of the Glen to where she stays.
Cheers

We all know Loch Lyon - It's pretty much the end of the road - but it's a dammed hydro Loch.

I don't suppose you noticed a cottage/house up by the Loch?

There are two shepherding positions coming up on that estate and one of the houses offered is apparently pretty remote and wild and sits at the very end by Loch Lyon itself. We are going to go up and have a look-see after lambing time, but it would be great to get the lowdown on it from someone else's perspective first.

The other house is at Auch. Do you know that area? I only know Tyndrum (and the Green Welly Stop ) from numerous West Highland holidays.
