It is great the authorities did something. I fault the owner for not controlling the dog. So maybe next year dogs will be banned?

Glad the guy was arested and fined but i think the bit about the article being pinned to the bowling green was what hurt him the most.

It is the owners fault for not controlling the dog, but the dog didn't deserve that!

The guy could have called for the owner to get the dog, or even 'scare' or off by shouting/running at it, or even grab it's collar and lead it off the green!
Not hurling it round by it's tail!

Well I can not excuse him or the owners.

Poor dog was a victim though.

I am sure he wouldn;t like someone to grab his tail and swing him by it.

If the bowling green is in the middle of a public park surely some sort of fence would be a good idea?

I`m glad that there was such a strong reaction. The paper also printed his name and photo...I guess he`ll be regretting his tantrum now.

I agree.

I couldn't believe his feeble excuse for swinging the dog round either (could believe that you could accidently grab a tail, but not that you'd be surprised at how light the dog was and so swung it round 3 times).

I do find stories like this worrying though - the man clearly lost his temper what would he have done if the owner (and other people) hadn't been there - or what might he do to an animal that got him wound up if there was no-one else around?

To be honest, as a 'gentlemanly' sport, I do think his inability to control his temper and to react like that should make them question his suitablility to be represent their club as captain.
