Back to work tomorrow and nervous

Well been signed off for around 5 weeks, officially I was due back Tuesday 4th August, however I wanted to go back Monday just past. My manager had looked into it and told me that I couldn't, I had to wait till my sicknote run out.

Today he called me and said that apparently I can come back early so we agreed I would come back tomorrow just so I can ease myself back in.

Well now the nerves are getting to me, my paranoia is getting the better of me, I'm sure they think I'm skiving. I'm not, it's this stupid condition. I need to go back to work, I can't be off but oh nerves....

Good luck for tomorrow. If you are in the right place in your head you'll be fine, afterall its no-ones business why you were off.
Its a brave thing to do going back after time off, once you're there I'm sure everything will be just fine

Good luck! I'm sure the nerves will soon disappear once you're there.

I think it might be wise to do it gradually. My Brother has just returned to work after having over a month off, with severe nerves (has actually been in hospital). He is returning half days for three days each week and gradually increasing. He's struggling doing that, so I think you definitely need to ease yourself in gently.

Best of luck. I know it must be hard for you

I'm sure going in for the the first day will be the worst. It probably won't be half as bad as you imagine and by this time tomorrow it will be all over
Don't push yourself too hard at first. They should be grateful that you are going back early. As others have said if you can do part time for a bit it might help.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
