Tesco shelving Tesco Value

Bosses say the "no frills" facelift is a step up in quality - none of the products will contain MSG, hydrogenated fats, artificial flavours or colours, or genetically modified ingredients - at no extra cost.
Does that mean that the old Tesco Value products contained GM ingredients?

Are all those ingredients that Tesco say the "new" products will not contain, really so bad?

Quality is one thing. Quality is good. But when a person has hungry children to feed, does not quantity and availability [ie price] have an advantage over quality?

No, as someone who has worked places that supply Tesco's for many years GM ingredients, or ingredients that may have been derived from GM ingredients have never been allowed, to be honest this is a marketing ploy by them, the products aren't acyually changing just the packaging

And no doubt the price...

Still, guess it brings to the days when we were skint, and getting tins out of the cupboard required a lot of reading when they were all in identical blue and white stripey packaging - woe was you if you were making dinner and not concentrating.

GM foods are a good thing. ALL farmed crops have been genetically modified in one way or the another, at some point in time

Morrisons did the same a few months ago. Just renamed it for a new sales pitch I suppose.

Yep, same stuff, new packaging, new marketing ploy. It's the posh packaging you're paying for most of the time!

Reminds me of a spoof advert I saw on a comedy programme. A lady was washing her hair with Tesco value shampoo and the voiceover said "because you're worthless"!

I buy their value tissues -that's about all.
