What is your opinion on Raw Food, or BARF diets?

I've become increasingly interested in raw food, and BARF style diets for dogs. However, I'm concerned of food borne illnesses like salmonella, and e.coli.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Dogs can cope with salmonella and e-coli if present in their raw meat and bones. I have fed raw for nearly 20 years and never had a problem.

I've been feeding raw for over 10 years with no adverse effects at all. You do need to educate yourself thoroughly though.
