It may be common sense to you, but it is amazing how many times he has to tell owners to exercise their dogs.

I don't think he has ever claimed that he 'invented' the need to exercise, but it is one of his fundamental beliefs, so I think it is fair to include it.

ETA though of course the style of exercise could also be questioned - personally I hate to see tredmills used for 'everyday' exercise (though could see they may have a use for rehabilitation after injury etc).

Aha....but to say 'yes I exercise my dog lots' doesn't mean I agree with CM....just means I exercise my dog lots

Name me one trainer that doesn`t say to excercise your dog! All the other options are rarely recommended by other trainers (unless they are in the CM `camp`.) so I don`t think that should be included.

Different types of exercise perhaps. I wouldn't rollerskate thorugh a town with my dog...not allowing it to stop and sniff etc, nor would I put my dog on an exercise machine. My idea of 'exercise' is very different to CM's I think.

I don't follow any of his methods.

What makes me laugh about that program is the owners. When he asks them how much exercise they get, the response is often "Oh, Fluffles gets a walk at the weekend and then just runs around the yard". And then they wonder why Fluffles is misbehaving? it just astonishes me how lacking in common sense some people are. If you can't be bothered to peel your butt off the sofa to entertain your dog at least once a day, don't get one!

I had to put the first one cos it wouldnt let me not put anything

Dont get me wrong I totaly agree with making sure my dog gets enough excercise but I dont agree with the way CM does it, I give my dog mental and physical exercise, I alow it to sniff and be a dog, I have longer walks some days and shorter others - I am not trying to run my dogs till it is too tired to offer any behviours

So I use none of those things
