Which grooming equipment for a Whippet?

Clearly they are not the most complicated dog to groom. :smt002
But they are thin skinned. I assume a damp shammy would be enough for a daily groom. But for those days when the dog needs a good groom to get rid of dirt and/or loose hairs; What would you recommend please?

I find a rubber curry comb or mitten lifts the dirt and grease and grabs all the loose hairs leaving a lovely sheen on the coat

Hi Evie

I have wiemars and I use a normal rubber glove as in washing up. I find it strips out the dead coatandion and I dont need to much pressure and I can get into all nooks and crannies!! when all done if Iwant to put a bit of shine on them I rub them with a bit of velvet.

A damp washleather is as good as anything, I always used it on the dobes which do not have a thick coat (and no undercoat at all) and it removes dirt, scurf etc' Also Witch Hazel is good for a quick clean , just put some on a damp cloth and wipe dog down Kath

I use a grooming glove on my smooth coat Jack Russell- tiny rubber teeth and a cloth to lift the hairs off- easy on these dogs:smt002
