i was browsing the web today to pinch some designs for whelping boxes and i came upon the cardboard variety, flamin hell, 49 quid for a cardboard box, has anyone purchased one of these and are they any good?
I used one for my litter two years ago. It was excellent.
The point of using cardboard is hygiene. It's for one litter and one litter only, then chuck it and get a clean fresh new one for the next litter. No chance of cross infection.
I've got a snowsilk box, a type of tongue & groove UPVC, slots together then can be flat packed, I've even pressure washed it between litters. Expensive yes, but has lasted well.
