We never get our mail before 11, at the earliest. Sometimes, it can be after 2.30 pm, because it all comes by plane, and is therefore weather-dependent.
Couriers can be even worse! One time, I ordered some cooking things from near Bristol. The supplier addressed it correctly, but some doofus in TNT decided that Orkney was a suburb of Inverness, and re-addressed it. It took the Inverness end 2 weeks to realise the error, and redirect it to Aberdeen (

), where it sat in the harbour for another 2 weeks, waiting for someone to have the nous to put it on a ferry. Altogether, almost 6 weeks in transit
Very occasionally, I am unsurprised, because so many people get the address totally wrong. I have seen "Orkney" written as:
Aukny
Orkenay
Orkky
Orkny
Auckney
and other outlandish rubbish. I can understand (occasionally) people not knowing where it is, but surely it's not that hard to spell!
