It was a very interesting couple of hours.
Pen brought along Patch a rescue from the war zone who is now a very good Ambassador for NOWZAD, he behaved so well and loved all the fuss he was given . He was to be re homed but I think he wormed his way into Pens heart and is now a member of the Farthing family along with Nowzad and Tally the first two dogs to be rescued by Pen.
Pen also has his Springer and Rottie so quite a full house.
The video footage was quite harrowing, the rescue centre in Afghanistan is very ,very basic and they are short of basic medicines , wormers flea and tick preparations.....everything really. The suffering of animals out there is beyond words
Here in the UK we have so many rescue organisations, out there they have nothing but NOWZAD.
The dogs give our boys serving out there a little bit of normality as well as comfort in what must be a hellish situation.
In return the lads would like to see their companions in a place of safety, and NOWZAD has managed to do this for some of them. This is only part of their work and they are keen to move forward with spay and neutering to hopefully
humanely reduce the huge numbers of feral dogs and the human deaths from Rabies.
