Male Bulldog Found - Smiley

News Story Link

Does anyone know the owners of Smiley - formerly of the Isle of Wight? He was found in Princes Risborough, South Buckinghamshire in March; he registered (chipped?) but to an address on the Isle of Wight that is now unoccupied He was well cared for when found, probably just lost after moving house

He will be put up for re-homing soon so if anyone knows who he belongs to they need to contact the RSPCA ASAP.

Hi IWLass,
I spoke to Mrs Prior yesterday to see if his owners had been traced but unfortunately not as yet. I do hope they are found as he looks and sounds a really nice dog [temperament etc] from what i was told. Someone on the Isle of Wight must recognise him as he is quite unusual. If i did'nt have a dominant male American Bulldog i would take him myself so lets hope he finds his owners or at least a new caring home....Cheers...Ian..

Had no end of this when I was a dog warden, dogs chipped but either the details had not been changed when the owner moved or the dog had been sold on and the new owners had not updated them. Even had at least three dogs dumped in our area from other areas, with the details from the chips leading to old addresses the owners no longer lived at.

The microchip system is only any good if details are kept up to date I am afraid. Do hope he is re-united soon. Someone must surely be missing him!
