Bryan is poorly (colitis again we think)

He's been off his food yesterday and was sick and lethargic so I rang the vet. They told us to give him some rehydration fluid and keep him on bland food for a couple of days.

He's been sick through the night, but I've just managed to feed him a whole scrambled egg which he's keeping down (fingers crossed) and he hasn't got dire-rear so far.

I wasn't going to walk him today, but when I opened the door to take Tilly out, he shot out too and seems energetic when we are out. He's just not really wanting to eat much.

I have to take him down to the vets if he's no better by tomorrow. I think we got it early enough this time though by keeping him hydrated.

He's sleeping a lot but seems not too bad now. I've cooked some rice and chicken for his tea, so hopefully he'll get a bit more food down.

Thanks guys x

An idea might be to feed him boiled/poached white fish and rice.... you'd be surprised how many dogs get an upset digestive system with chicken based food.

I've had quite a few probs with colitis in the past... natural yoghurt, chicken, the stuff folks would recommend in the past actually used to exarcebate the situation. White fish and rice would always settle my dogs.

Hope your dog feels better soon, I know how wearing it can be for all concerned.

x
