Some days you know...

.. your hard work is paying off.

Since moving out and enrolling Louie in training class and also taking him out with Leanne's dogs... He is finally maturing.

When I was at my parents last week, we met his puppyhood friend, Lola. And walking with Lola and her owner - Louie wasn't crashing about or being as crazy as he usually is - totally different to Lola.

He is responding much better in training and also at home and on walks.

After Leanne pointed out that I was worrying too much about him running too far and I've let go of that worry, he has even started coming back to check where I am before running off again.

So we're both growing and we're both getting better. And I must say that with it just being me and him, it has been so good for our relationship and we're understanding each other better and he's not getting mixed up with commands because other people aren't undoing the work I've put in. We're a long way from being best in obedience and other competitions but we're growing together...

Just thought I'd share for all those who are having trouble but if you just stick in there - you'll get there.

I had a similar feeling with Cooper today, I was having a bit of a bad day and he cheered me up with being a good boy on his walk.

Great that he's finally maturing!
